BeLight project has explored more sustainable solutions for thermal insulation bags, which are traditionally produced using polyethylene. In the project, VTT demonstrated a biobased monomaterial solution for recycling made from Brightplus’ material.
Monomaterial insulation bag is a multilayer structure of thin extrusion foamed with biobased BrightBio®® LOIMU material. Thermoplastic monomaterial solution is easy to recycle in the future. LOIMU is a biobased and recyclable thermoplastic polymer, suitable for versatile thermoforming applications.
